George William Straub, 1891-1983

George William Straub was born 26 October 1891 in Ripley, Ohio and studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the Art Institute of Chicago, and at the Julian Academy in Paris. He was an art director for an advertising firm in Chicago and spent many years during his career and after retirement in 1963 painting portraits and landscapes in oil and watercolor. He died in Highland Park, near Chicago, 21 February 1983.
