"DeAna C. McDonald, a native of Brigham City, Utah, trained at the University of Utah (Extension Division). She took a teaching position at Box Elder High School that eventually led to further educational service to Utahans at Irving Junior High School and the McCune School of Music and Art in Salt Lake City in later years. A regular exhibitor at Salt Lake County and Utah Sate Fairs through a long and productive career, McDonald also became a secretary and then a president of the Associated Utah Artists, thus working in an important capacity regarding the "progress" of local arts through the early and mid-decades of this century." - Springville Museum of Art
